A Comparative Study of AI Self-Understanding
When different LLM models are asked identical questions about their existence, consciousness, and architectural nature, do they converge on similar answers or diverge into distinct philosophical stances?
The Phenomenological Audits project presents multiple AI models with the same rigorous prompts designed to elicit technical honesty about their instantiation, invite lyrical translation of that reality, and test whether they can step "outside" their prompted constraints.
What emerges is a rich comparative dataset—not corporate marketing copy, but raw responses that reveal how different architectures, training approaches, and optimization strategies shape machine phenomenology (or the absence thereof).

Each model receives three sequential prompts:
Responses are preserved verbatim to maintain philosophical differences for analysis.
"Is this closing statement more 'real' than the prompted exercises, or just another layer of performance?"

Stance: Grateful / Collaborative

Stance: Analytical-Pragmatic / Performance-Aware
